Decisioning engine and agent tooling for a life-insurance platform

A Series-D life-insurance SaaS platform powers digital life-insurance products for the carriers and partners that build on it. We embedded with their engineering team to work on two of the systems that matter most: the decisioning engine behind underwriting, and the agent and admin tooling their operators use every day.

The problem

Selling life insurance digitally means making underwriting decisions that are fast, consistent, and defensible — while the humans running the business need tooling that keeps pace with them. Both of those systems sit at the core of the product, carry real regulatory and correctness stakes, and can't slow down as the platform grows. They needed senior engineers who could embed with their team and move confidently across that surface.

What we did

We joined as an embedded part of their engineering team and focused on:

• The decisioning engine behind underwriting — the systems that evaluate applications and turn rules and data into consistent, automated decisions.
• The agent and admin tooling built on top of it — the internal product that operators and administrators use to manage the business day to day.

The result

A decisioning engine and the operational tooling around it, engineered with an embedded team that could own the hard parts alongside theirs.
